Volgens mij de Canadese uitvoering. Bumper is voor het wild dat in Canada rond loopt. Niet dat het helpt als je een Eland tegen je mini krijgt.
Exactly. Dit is wat een Canadese kennis mini-rijder erover zegt:
That mini is a BL Mini 1000 "Canadian", with a British Columbia license plate. Minis were imported to Canada since 1960 or 61, but the "Canadian Spec" Mini was from 68 to 1980. Those bumpers are quite strong, more boxy and much more heavier, not to mention UGLY. In the rear teh bumper is attached to the trunk.
Plus it has a unsofisticated emissions cheating system. Since the Mini will not pass canadian emission tests, they decided to put a charcoal canister and an air pump, the air will be cleaned of any impurities thru the charcoal canister. Then it was pumped directly to the exaust pipe. So, the pollution was the same, but since those machines read in Parts Per Million, it seemed like a very efficient engine.

.. volgens mij heeft het niks met wild te maken, meer met de 'gemiddelde' bumperhoogte van andere auto's (uit die tijd)
